Year Two: 2269: Episode 1
The Long Road

*  The Circle first appeared in "A Call to Arms," and then throughout Jeanne Cavelos's Techno-Mage trilogy.  Their feelings about his actions here are in keeping with what we saw in ACTA and in Crusade.

*   The idea of the "Long Road" is one that appears throughout Babylon 5 and especially Crusade.  While never made explicitly clear, strong hints are given that this idea relates to the path one must travel in life, and the idea that traveling that path makes one stronger and better prepared for obstacles later on.  In fact, the Crusade episode that featured Edward Woodward as Alwyn, another Techno-Mage, was entitled "The Long Road," and from that was derived the title of this chapter.  Here, the idea of the Long Road applies not only to the Techno-Mages and to Dureena, but to the difficult path the human race faces after the destruction of the Earth.  (As always, I have tried to make JMS's titles apply to more than one thing in this version of the story.)

*  At last we see Dr. Sarah Chambers.  Without a Drakh plague in this reality, she was not needed previously.

*  The fall of Talia Winters came in the B5 episode, "Divided Loyalties."
