* The beginning of this chapter closely follows the events of the Crusade episode of the same name. However, in the tv episode, the title referred to remembered sorrows of the past. Here, the sorrows are very much current and present with the people of Excalibur. 

* Additionally, Max has just embarked upon the path of sorrows himself, suffering the consequences of ignoring his ex-wife's calls for aid during the previous chapters.

* G'Kar also experiences new and present sorrow, as the ISA begins to collapse around him. He wonders if the entire galaxy is headed down a path of sorrows.
