Noteable on This Week's New Releases List
by Van Plexico

Coming this week:

> Invisibles Volume 3 #7 (Of 12), 2.95

I hope Vol. 3 will actually make sense to me when I go back and read the whole thing at the end... but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying it in the meantime! I'm just verrrry confused....

> Legion Of Super Heroes Pvc Set, 39.95

What the heck is this?? Can anyone point me to a picture on the web of this? Is it a set of miniature figures?? What wouldn't I pay for a tiny set of plastic miniature Avengers figures???

> Avengers Forever #9 (Of 12), 2.99

This alone makes it a stellar week for comics!

> Black Panther #9, 2.50

And this further enhances that fact.

> Fantastic Four #22, 1.99

Someone please get Claremont off this title soon! I want to go back to buying and enjoying FF again! I mean, jeez, I loved most everything Chris wrote back in the heyday of X-MEN and MARVEL TEAM-UP, but he just doesn't seem to click with the FF.

> Thor #16, 1.99

See FF comments, but substitute "Jurgens."

> Uncanny X-Men #373, 1.99

Hasn't the time come yet to renumber this series??? Think of the sales being lost; the money not being made; the new readers who are being done a terrible disservice because they'll only start reading a series if it's started over at #1! In the name of all that's holy, Marvel-- RENUMBER the X-MEN before it's too late!!!!!

(The preceeding commentary by Van was *tongue in cheek*.   Please note the heavy sarcasm used in the production of this commentary.)

> Wolverine Punisher #4 (Of 4), 2.99

Wolverine/Punisher??  Hey, not only is it 1977 all over again, it's also 1987 all over again!

> Babylon 5 Vol 2 #14, 5.99

This magazine usually has just enough useful and interesting information within its pages to justify buying it, despite the tons of "celebrity interview" pieces and giant pin-up sized photos.  Often the JMS column at the end is worth the entire price of the magazine.

> Analytical Guide To Televisions Battlestar Galactica HC, 39.95

You have got to be kidding me, right? I mean, I love Galactica and all, but... analytical guide?? Hardcover???? $39.95???????????

> Meaning Of Star Trek TPB, 12.95

I just saw an article that claimed that more people now speak Klingon than speak Navajo. I think it was a joke, but still, would you really be surprised if it were true?   Sheesh...
