Goliath  (Henry Pym;  Clint Barton;  Erik Josten;  Bill Foster)

Third costumed alias employed by Henry Pym, the Avengers founder more recently known as Yellowjacket.

Pym first abandoned his Goliath guise to adopt his Yellowjacket identity and rely primarily on his shrinking power rather than his growth power, which was more physically taxing.

Later, Pym operated with the Avengers as Doctor Pym, Giant-Man and Goliath before resuming the Yellowjacket identity.

Pym's teammate Clint (Hawkeye) Barton briefly adopted the Goliath identity and Pym's growth serum, but eventually abandoned both to resume his previous identity as Hawkeye, and he has since lost his physical tolerance for size-changing.

Later, super-criminal Erik Josten (a.k.a. Power Man) augmented his abilities with Pym's growth serum and rechristened himself the new, criminal Goliath, but he later reformed and is active as an adventurer under the new alias of Atlas.

More recently, Pym's longtime friend and occasional research partner Bill Foster has been active as a heroic Goliath.

As Goliath, Pym had more or less the same powers and abilities as he did in his previous guise as Giant-Man.

Goliath (Clinton Francis Barton):
Alternate costumed alias assumed by Hawkeye using Hank Pym's growth serum in hopes of contributing more raw power to the Avengers. He abandoned the Goliath identity after deciding he was more valuable to the team by relying on his natural skills in his original identity as Hawkeye, which he retains to this day.

He resumed his Goliath role twice, briefly, on occasions when the team needed more strength, but he resumed his Hawkeye identity shortly thereafter each time. He has since lost his physical tolerance for size-changing, so his Goliath alias seems permanently defunct.

Goliath (Erik Stephan Josten):
Third costumed identity assumed by Erik Josten during his lengthy super-criminal career, after Dr. Karl Malus helped Josten revitalize his fading strength and granted him new growth powers. Josten battled the Avengers repeatedly as Goliath, but later reformed after helping to found the Thunderbolts as Atlas.

Goliath (Doctor William Barrett "Bill" Foster):
Longtime associate and occasional employee of the Avengers; former Champions associate; one-time member of the Defenders; former member of the Project: PEGASUS security team.

A brilliant biochemist employed by Avengers benefactor Tony Stark, Foster was assigned to work with Avengers member Hank Pym on a cure for Pym, who had been trapped at giant size as Goliath. They eventually succeeded in this, but Foster stayed on as Pym's research partner and sometimes became involved in Avengers cases.

Foster later used an improved facsimile of Pym's growth serum to become the super-hero Black Goliath.

Still later, he assumed one of Pym's old aliases as the new Giant-Man, though he was eventually forced to retire from adventuring when health problems curtailed his size-changing power.

He regained his powers with the aid of the Avengers, and has been active on and off as an adventurer since then, most recently using the costumed identity Goliath.

He has remained an ally and associate of the Avengers over the years, notably by supervising the purchase, reconstruction and outfitting of their western headquarters in Palos Verdes.

For a time, he renewed his research partnership with Henry Pym, and with it his occasional association with the Avengers (for instance, assisting Pym in saving the life of the second Swordsman, an honorary Avenger).

Foster was also among the scientific researchers who helped the Avengers analyze the deadly Red Zone bacteria.
